摘  要
本次项目课题为《社会语言学》第五章翻译实践报告。《社会语言学》一书是由乔治敦大学语言学教授Ralph Fasold所著，系统而全面地讲述了称代形式、言语交际民俗学、语篇分析以及社会语言学应用等诸多方面的内容，对语言学习者具有重要的参考价值。
本篇翻译报告共分为项目介绍、理论依据、翻译过程及心得总结四个部分。第一部分项目介绍主要是介绍项目的来源及其意义；第二部分理论依据主要是介绍笔者在此次翻译中所依据的翻译理论；第三部分翻译过程包括译前准备、译中所运用的翻译方法及实例分析和译后审校；第四部分心得总结主要是总结此次项目谈谈笔者的一些感受和启示。
通过此次项目，笔者获益匪浅，既锻炼了翻译能力，又学习了一定的语言学及翻译理论知识，为今后的翻译学习打下了基础，指明了方向。

ABSTRACT
The project is based on Chapter 5 of the book: The Sociolinguistics of Language, written by Ralph Fasold, a linguistics professor in Georgetown University. The book comprehensively and systematically discusses many aspects about sociolinguistics, such as, address forms, the ethnography of communication, discourse and so on. It has an important reference value to language learners.
This translation report is divided into the project introduction, the translation theory basis, the translation process and the translation practice summary. The first part mainly introduces the source and meaning of this project. The second part is the introduction of the translation theories used in the project. The third part includes the pre-translation preparation, the detailed analysis of translation methods used in translation through some examples and the proofreading after translation. The fourth part is the summary of this project, mainly about some experience and revelation.
The author benefited a lot through this project. It makes the author not only practice the ability of translation but also learn much knowledge about language and translation theory. At the same time, it lays a foundation and guides the endeavor direction for the author’s future study.
